How to Delete Pages From a PDF (or Keep Only the Pages You Need)
A PDF often contains pages you do not want to share: a blank page at the end, a cover sheet, pages with private details, or pages that belong to another document. You can remove them without opening any special software.
Step by step: delete pages
- Open the Delete PDF Pages tool.
- Choose your PDF file.
- In the box, type the pages you want to remove. For example:
2, or2,5-7. - Press Delete PDF Pages.
- Download the new file and check that the right pages are gone.
How to type page numbers
3removes page 3 only.1,4,9removes pages 1, 4 and 9.5-8removes pages 5, 6, 7 and 8.1,5-8,12mixes single pages and ranges.
Important: the numbers mean the position of the page in the file, counted from 1. They do not mean the number printed on the page. If your PDF has a cover and the first printed page number is on the third page, you must type 3, not 1.
Keeping pages instead of deleting them
Sometimes it is easier to say which pages you want to keep. If you have a 40-page document and only need pages 10 to 12, use Split PDF, choose the range mode and type 10-12. You will get a new PDF with only those pages.
Fixing mistakes
- You deleted the wrong page. Your original file is untouched, because the tool makes a new file. Run it again on the original with the correct numbers.
- An error says the range is outside the document. You typed a page number larger than the page count. Open the PDF to see how many pages it has.
- You cannot delete every page. At least one page must remain.
- The order is wrong afterwards. Use Reorder PDF Pages.
Before you share a document
If you remove pages to protect private information, check the new file carefully. Look at every remaining page, and remember that deleting pages does not hide details written on pages you keep.
Is it safe?
Yes. The pages are removed inside your browser, and your PDF is not uploaded to our servers.
