Convert PDF to JPG

Converting a PDF page to an image is useful when you want to post it on social media, put it in a slide, send it in a chat app or use it on a website. The question is which format to choose. JPG and PNG are the two most common, and each has a clear strength.

JPG: small files, great for photos

JPG compresses images by throwing away detail your eyes are unlikely to notice. Files are small, which makes JPG a good choice for sharing and uploading. It works best for pages that contain photographs. On pages with small text or thin lines, you may see faint blur or noise around the letters.

PNG: sharper, larger files

PNG keeps every pixel exactly as it was drawn. Text, tables, charts and logos stay crisp. The price is size: PNG files are often several times larger than JPG for the same page.

Quick comparison

Step by step

  1. Open PDF to JPG or PDF to PNG.
  2. Choose your PDF.
  3. Pick a quality: Small file, Standard or High.
  4. Press the convert button.
  5. Download the ZIP. It contains one image for each page, named in order.

Which quality should I pick?

The quality setting controls how many pixels each page gets. The three levels are about 72, 108 and 144 pixels per inch of page. In plain terms:

These images are made for screens. If you need print-quality images (300 pixels per inch or more), our tool is not the right choice. A desktop program is better for that.
