How to Sign a PDF on Your Phone (Free, No App)
Someone sends you a contract, an offer letter or a school form as a PDF and asks you to sign it. You do not need a printer, a scanner or a paid app. You can sign it on your phone in about a minute, and the file never leaves your device.
Step by step on iPhone or Android
- Open janjuapdf.com/sign-pdf in Safari or Chrome.
- Tap Click to choose files and pick the PDF from Files or Downloads. If it is in WhatsApp or email, save it to your phone first.
- Under 1. Create your signature, choose one way:
- Draw: sign inside the box with your finger. Tap Clear to try again.
- Type: type your name and pick a handwriting style.
- Upload image: choose a photo of your signature on white paper. The white background is removed for you.
- Under 2. Place it on the page, use the arrows to go to the right page, then drag the signature onto the signature line. Use the slider to make it bigger or smaller.
- Choose This page only (or All pages if every page needs it) and tap Sign PDF.
- Tap Download, open the file once, and check your signature is in the right place.
Tips for a neat signature
- Turn your phone sideways while drawing. The box gets wider and your signature looks more natural.
- Use blue if the document should look hand-signed. Many people sign official papers in blue.
- Sign slowly. Fast strokes on glass often look shaky.
- Best quality: sign on white paper with a dark pen, take a clear photo in daylight and use Upload image.
Need to fill in a form first?
If the PDF has boxes for your name, date or address, fill them with Fill PDF Form first. If it has no real boxes, type on it with Edit PDF. Then sign the finished file with Sign PDF.
Is a signature added this way valid?
This adds a picture of your signature, just like signing a printed page and scanning it. Many offices, landlords and employers accept this for everyday paperwork. For some contracts, banks or government services, a certified digital signature may be required. If you are not sure, ask the person or office that sent you the document.
Is it safe?
Yes. Your PDF and your signature stay in your phone's browser and are not uploaded to our servers. Still, only sign documents you have read and understand.
